Fumigation involves rendering insects (eggs, larvae, nymphs, adults) and other harmful agents (nematodes, fungi, bacteria, etc.) ineffective in bulk, bagged, or packaged agricultural products, animal products, leather, books, furniture, marble, and similar items during storage or transport. A chemical (fumigant) in gaseous form is applied at a specific temperature in a closed environment for a defined period.
For long-term stored goods, periodic inspections are conducted by expert fumigation operators to prevent damage caused by pests; fumigation is repeated if pests are detected.
DEGASSING gas measurements are performed in fumigated ship holds, containers, wagons, vehicles, silos, factories, etc., and certification is issued.
